Editor. Smart Ass. Model?!

Our very own Margarita Vaisman (Marketing Coordinator, Digital Media Group) just posted a new article on Marvel.com about ladies' Wolvie shirts and guess who is one of the models?! Yes, ME. Check it out!

Marvel Style: Wearing Wolverine

We took a ton of pics the other day, obviously only the best could be used. Click the link to see 'em. Here's one shot that didn't make it in that I also liked...

Photos by Judith Stevens!

And if you like what you see, ladies, go get 'em! These shirts rock! (I actually already own the one Margarita is wearing!)

CitiField Revisited!

So last weekend I went back to CitiField and got to do some of the stuff I missed the first time around. I'd say a couple more games and I'll start paying less attention to the stadium and more on the games again! haha

My awesome pal, Thighs, got us the tickets!

Found this funny. No noisemakers? There is no louder noisemaker than my big MOUTH! haha Wonder how this affects Mr. Cowbell Man. I didn't notice his presence, come to think of it. That's good news for me, as I can't stand him.

I was COMPLETELY wrong about the lack of female-friendly souvenir clothing at CitiField. We've actually got an entire store! Thanks to Alyssa Milano, I can get fantastic Mets stuff (like the jacket I'm wearing in the above pictures – not shown: it's reversible! The other side is classic blue with Mets written out across the front!) that FIT at Touch! What an amazing idea!

And yes, I got that Shake Shack burger! And boy, it was worth the inning-long wait! Oh man...drooling just thinking about it...

Got a shake too. Chocolate/Vanilla. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm...

After much debate, Thighs finally got herself some Cracker Jacks, but was angry and disappointed that once again the prize was a lame pencil topper. Boooooooooo!!!!

Much of the complaints about the new stadium is it's lack of reference the old Shea days (even actress Julia Stiles is disappointed). There's lots of pictures of Ebbits Field, on which CitiField is based, but really? That's not METS. It wouldn't kill them to put up some pictures of games being played at Shea, or even better, some of our old star players!! Like Piazza and Alfonso (and others, but those guys were the team when I first really got into baseball). At least we've got the old apple on display and available for picture-taking. Though it is kind of hidden, like a dirty little secret. And I wonder if it's there permanently...

On the way out, I shot a picture of the layout...I need to study this before next trip! I was constantly getting lost!

Still have yet to get this sushi I've heard about. I'm going again on May 6th, so maybe I'll get some then...though I don't know if I can resist the call of Shake Shack... And yes, I'll probably break down and get that sweatshirt and/or sundress I wanted at Touch... :-P

I Gots Ma Hair Did!

There's not much to say, I got my hair done a few weeks ago and I LOVE it! I feel like my old self again! Here's pics! (Email me if you're interested in my hairstylist! She got my hair from a faded red to blonde, she's amazing!)

Yay for pink hair!!!

CitiField!

Or as I like to call it... the New Shea! ;-)

I didn't get to go to Opening Day, but my mom scored tickets to the 2nd Exhibition game again the Red Sox (the day after I saw West Side Story...was a very mommy weekend!). Unfortunately the game SUCKED. The Red Sox got a grand slam just as we were sitting down in the first inning, giving them a 6 run lead before the Mets even had their first at-bat! Ugh!

At least it was only an exhibition game! And it gave us more of a reason to just wander around. Although, we didn't wander as much as we wanted to, it was frakkin' FREEZING due to INSANE winds!

I know there are tons of pictures of the new field all over the internet, but I'm gonna post mine anyway. :)

I love the way the front looks! The arches where you walk in and stuff, awesome! And right in front (what all those people are standing on in this pic) is the fan walk with personalised bricks the Mets were selling leading up to the construction of CitiField...

See? What a cool idea that was! Those'll be there until the NEXT Stadium!

And OF COURSE my mom and I got one:

Love these signs...

So cool inside...

The field...

The shiny new apple (which I, unfortunately, didn't get to see come out...but there's plenty of time for that!):

I even like the new chairs! And there's definitely a difference in leg room (not huge, but noticeable)! Yay!

THIS made my day! Even though I found out about it AFTER I'd already had a burger upstairs. IT'S A FRAKKIN' SHAKE SHACK!!!!!!!! Oh man, soooo awesome:

And from down on that level, you can stand behind the seats and watch the game too! What a view!!!
Here's me standing there. haha I look like a bag lady with the wind blowing my hair around like that and my ridiculously fuzzy purple gloves!

And for you Marvel fans out there... haha (all the levels are named something or other, but this one stood out for me!):

Best part of the day was when one of the approx.-60-year-old ushers thought I was a TEENAGER!!! Woot! (For those that don't know, I'll be 29 this year!)

I didn't go to the bathroom while I was there, but my aunt did the night before and took pictures, VERY nice. She said they pipe in the audio of the game which is great (I think they do that at Dodgers stadium...or Rogers Centre... I know I experienced that at SOME stadium... Anyway, she also said she found this really cool lounge with a bar and like 80 TVs inside or something! Next on my list of things to look for.

Also, unfortunately, I didn't get to take a picture with (or even see) the old apple from Shea, but I am going to the game this Sunday with my friend "Thighs," so I'll do that then...as well as getting a Shake Shack cheeseburger!!! YUM!

There's also a nice gift shop, much like the one that was at Shea, but also much like that one, there's not much for women. I don't know what the deal is, but of the FEW things they have in women's sizes, at least HALF of them are pink or have rhinestones on them. UGH! The guys get such cool stuff, but it's all ENORMOUS! ::sigh:: For you ladies, I recommend the internet, Modell's or the Club Store on 42nd St. between 5th and 6th Aves. for team clothing.

All in all, I love the new stadium. Sad to lose Shea, and I'd be happier if this one was CALLED Shea, but in the end, it's a welcome improvement!

Let's Go Mets!!!

West Side Story!

I went to see West Side Story on Broadway with my mom Friday night. It. Was. AWESOME! I've never been a fan of musicals, but for some reason, I fell in love with it as a small child and watched it over and over. Then I "stole" the soundtrack (a cassette tape! ha! remember those?!) from my parents and listened to THAT over and over. I loved every single song, knew all the lyrics...and never forgot them.

Mom found out a few months ago this was coming to Broadway and immediately asked if I'd go. How could I say no to that!? ('Specially with Mom treating me! :-P)

(SPOILERZ ahead!)

This musical was GREAT! The dancing, the costumes, all of it: AMAZING. Anita was FANTASTIC and Maria was perfect. Didn't like that guys QUITE as much, but I think it's just because I don't find dudes dancing and singing like that as appealing as women doing it, but they were all really good. haha

I was a little worried because she'd read reviews leading up to our show night that said that all the Sharks and their ladies only spoke Spanish. There were a bunch of moments with the Spanish, but most were minor things that were easy to follow. I suppose the worst of it was the two songs that were sung in Spanish: I Feel Pretty and A Boy Like That/I Have a Love. That was a little upsetting, but also kind of cool, considering I knew all the original words anyway.

There really isn't much to complain about. I wasn't TOO thrilled with some of the updated lyrics...just seemed a little unnecessary, but certainly wasn't horrible. Oh, and for some strange reason they moved the I Feel Pretty and Officer Krupke sequences to AFTER the rumble...again, don't know what purpose that served. But I was just relieved they weren't cut (as I had thought before the intermission)!

Oh, but one added scene was really cool. It was like a dream sequence of Maria and Tony's where everyone gets along. It was just a cool dance scene with a little kid singing the Somewhere song. The kid bit was weird, but the Sharks and Jets dancing together was cool.

All in all, this was great and highly recommended for anyone who likes musicals, West Side Story or just wants to see a great show! Here're some pics I stole from their website:

(I love the Shark ladies dresses! Especially Anitas! I want one!)

(Maria is GORGEOUS.)

(Loved watching the ladies dance!)

(Not the TOUGHEST fight scenes ever...hahaha)

Fun With Statues!

As shown in a previous post, I love these crazy "everyday people" statues I've been noticing lately. They might've been around forever, but I've only started really noticing them in the last couple years. And I've also noticed how fun it is to take pictures with them! :-)

Here are the ones I've taken so far, but I'm hoping to find more of these ...

Here's the one I've posted before, found in Carrboro, NC. Rivals the chess one (below) as my favourite so far. Best part is that it's like right next to someone's house at an actual bus stop!!! I would LOVE to have this on my lawn!!!

This one is somewhere along my walk from work to my Friday night pub. He's definitely winning. I suck at chess. (This was taken 1 1/2 - 2 years ago.)

Found this guy in Toronto last summer. Walking back to the Renaissance Hotel from some bar I don't remember. Great position. I wonder if people just use these benches as actual benches sometimes. I wouldn't be able to stop looking at him.

These last two were taken the night I saw Cloverfield...which I believe might've been opening night. This is somewhere downtown in the financial district, I believe. A little blurry, but you get the idea. The panda hat I'm wearing is a little creepy because you can't see my face...haha

If you guys know of any cool statues like this where you live, let me know! If I'm every 'round those parts, I'll want to meet them! :)

The End.

PS I know the Ronald McDonald one is quite popular...but I think I've seen that enough times, kinda want to leave that one OUT of my collection.
